UA club never had bonus points.

Chase bankers have no clue what they are talking about (unless you get someone that knows the system)

Many people here have had successful 2/3bm via bank

Great, so tomorrow I'll go into a Chase branch to open a Club card and then go online and open an Explorer card.

They can both exist on the same MilePlus accout, right?

You don't have to go into a branch if you don't want to.
You can SM them to ask them to waive the annual fee for the club card as they offer in-branch and then apply online when they confirm.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

But why make trouble if it can be avoided

I don't mind going into the branch to do it.

Another issue is that I have a plain old MileagePlus card that was converted from Onepass.   I think that renders me ineligible for the 30K bonus for the Explorer...  :o(

I could use my business tax id to open it but may need to create a new MP number which would mean not being able to use my current miles.

I don't think I'm cut out for this stuff.  I feel defeated.

You cab combine two mileage accounts after you get the miles in your new mileage plus account.

First of all you can get 55k. Second cancel your old one. Make a new ffn then after the new miles post you can combine the accounts

I had dozens of SMs asking for various stuff.  It's really not a big deal.

@MEIR613:
By doing it by SM and then apply online you support the site and its founders.
So why don't you spend the minimal effort and show a tiny appreciation?

I really don't want to get into this conversation. I agree that you should support this site but IICC who went to a bank to apply for a ink card???

Credit the miles to UA for your personal use.

Sure, I can do that.  But now I need to apply for the US Airways Credit Card so I can get double miles when buying tickets.  That will be the 4th card applied for in a week...

You don't have a Sapphire Preferred, Freedom, or PRG?
