The incredible Samyang 14mm f/2.8 lenses are on sale at B&H. This lens is an incredible bargain (even at the regular price). It's come with me to Iceland a couple of times, to Norway, Svalbard, and many otjher places. If you want to shoot the night sky (aurora, Milky Way, etc.) this is the lens for you. Works great for landscapes as well, but be aware that it doesn't accept filters.

Canon version for $270, normally $330. Note that this version does not have the focus confirmation chip and is completely manual.

Nikon version for $320, normally $380. This version does have the focus confirmation chip.

Yet another Canon refurb sale, some pretty good deals again.

Some cameras come with a free case and memory card.

P&S cameras
DSLRs
Lenses

The best deal this time around is probably the 70-300mm lens for $220. This is a superb lens and works for full-frame cameras as well and normally costs around $650.

Is it worth buying a used Sony 24-70mm F/4 Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar instead of the standard a6000 kit lens and hold off for the telephoto one for now?

Depends if you need a tele now or not...

Also the 24-70 is a beast. It's huge, heavy, and made for full-frame cameras. Its also not very wide on the a6000, it'll act like a 36mm.

Really sweet lens though.

Upcoming Sony Black Friday deals:

a6000 with 16-50 and 55-210 lenses: $700
a6000 with 16-50 lens: $550
a5000 with 16-50: $350
RX100 (first version): $400
E-mount lenses: "up to $200 off", whatever that means.
Some other mediocre savings on the a7II and some camcorders and flashes.

Overall pretty weak sale I'd say... This is the official Sony store sale, but it stands to reason that it will be copied by everyone else pretty closely. Some retailers (Amazon, B&H, Adorama) may possibly throw in some little extras. Prices will be in effect 11/20 - 12/3.

Upcoming Nikon Black Friday sales:

D3400 with 18-55 and 70-300 lenses: $500
D5300 with 18-55 and 70-300 lenses: $600
55-200 lens: $150 by itself, $100 when bought together with any DSLR
70-300 lens: $150 when bought together with any DSLR
70-300 VR lens: $250 when bought together with any DSLR

There are lots of other deals on higher-end gear as well.

As with Sony, this is the official Nikon sale, hopefully retailers will sweeten the pot some more once the sale goes live.

a6000 With 16-50mm lens for $499.

Best price so far this season.

Note that this is an Import version so the warranty is through the seller (or, more accurately, Amex 8)). The seller is 99.7% positive out of 30k reviews.

I see all are here for the a6000. But is this recommended for the novice user too? My sister is addicted to the G16 (which is point-and-shoot), is that as simple and easy on auto settings?

And if it is, then for what market is the point-and-shoots good? (some - like the GX 7 - are about the same price or even more expensive than is the a6000.)

Thanks! I see.

I'd still appreciate if someone of the camera-knowers would explain P&S vs. the a6000.

The wiki here explains all the differences between the various cameras there are out there. (Though not the a6000 specifically.)
