Nice checker for what can and cannot officially be brought through security.
My TSA - Home Airport
You may want to print out their policy for under-educated agents.

The final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint.

A few weeks ago, I bought some nice new (kosher!) toothpaste in Crown Heights. Then when I got to EWR, the TSA guy pulled it out of my bag and said it's too big! I said I will open it right here and squeeze out the excess 2 ounces into the trash. He said I could go back outside and do that if I wanted to but then, obviously, I would have to go through security all over again.

A reviis?

Chaim Naeh says 3.07 oz.
Chofetz Chaim is 3.8 oz.

Maybe TSA compromised between them?

I had a 5 ounce gel deodorant that had much less than half left and TSA said I can't bring it through because the container was more than 3oz.

Pretty sure that is e correct info since u can't take a 16 ounce soda which only has 3 in it. The package has to be sealed and less than 3 ounces.

Uhm he wants to know if the kid is young enough for security to allow him to bring liquids. So yes this is the correct thread.

liquids on jet blue
« Reply #59 on: December 01, 2014, 01:01:37 PM »
it seems you have to put them in a clear plastic bag (i know this isnt specific to jet blue)
is that a total of 3.4 ounces or each item needs to be less than 3.4 ounces?
also, what do spray deodorant users do if they arent checking a bag?
