Looking to do  a half day  trip arround New York with the wife and new baby... Thanks in advance  :)
Depends what you like to do.

I recently went to this mansion on 5th ave and 70th st called the Frick Collection which was really nice. It's right near central park and there's a kids playground nearby. Also near other museums and cultural institutions.

May I make a suggestion?

I think for the more popular locations (Like NYC, LA, and Israel) there should be two threads. One discussing food and one discussing everything else.

I just clicked through about 25 pages of posts looking for some interesting ideas for things to do in NYC area and discussion seemed to be 60% about food 30% about hotels and 10% about attractions.

+1000
Time to separate the food and the attractions. People don't travel to a city to eat some good food (at least I hope not). It really clogs up the thread for people looking for things to do and places to stay.
I would add the South Florida thread to the list.

Dan: Are you agreeable to the plan?

Can you subdivide the reports into two? We can start with post from "this is who i am" as the first one in the non-food related thread.

Bagels & greens on coney between J & K or so

It's an imitation of Green (the owner was mad...), but not as good.

French B'kfst is good.

Has anyone tried out the new restaurant 'Prime at the Bentley"? Its a new restaurant operated by the the same owner as the Prime Grill. They basically occupy a 2 story penthouse at the Bentley hotel in NYC.  Looking for recommendation...thanks.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

What is the story with driving in Manhattan now? Thinking of driving in tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) to go to Prime Grill and was wondering if it is still a mess from last weeks storm. I figure tonight's snowfall will be cleared up if that is the only issue.

I take the fdr every night there's no problems. The only thing is that the tunnel is closed. Might vary depending on the time that your going though.

Which tunnel?  Weren't they all reopened?
