+1, though I don't know about it being the best place (maybe best value). There's something about being outside for it all, especially if it's not too hot and muggy.

What are the odds of that?

Last year was amazing weather. I was on my roof in brooklyn and it was neat being surrounded by fireworks shows in any direction.

There's literally a million things to do (okay, maybe not literally, but they have a few choices to say the least). Marco mentioned a few big ones, and I'd add Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Intrepid, the Met, MoMA, Museum of Natural History, Bronx Zoo, NY Aquarium, etc. You can look into packages like CityPass, NYC Explorer Pass, New York Pass, or a choose your own type of setup like Go Select. They can be worthwhile if you want to go to all the places in your package, but always compare to the normal prices. It may be worth not doing 1 or 2 of the attractions and paying regular price for the others.

I've never done one of those double decker bus tours but I always thought they looked fun.

Are there any "must check out" food places in the City, for a quick snack that is also a fun experience? Like a famous bakery, or a fun ice cream shop?

(I hope I'm making some sense...)

Not tons of sense, but you don't have to. How about just good Italian pizza?

You ever hear of ice cream stores like Menchies or 16 Handles? An ice cream store with a twist, right? So I wanna know if there's a bakery or ice cream store with a "twist" like that in NYC, preferably as close to 34th st. as possible.

Makes more sense now?

Yeah. gotcha. I know of a yogurt store similar to those all the way down, like by Wall St. but it's no good. Around 34th street, there's the new J2, 36th between 5th and 6th. Also, Bravo's Pizza on Broadway between 37th and 38th...
Sorry I can't help with the "twist"...

going to be in NYC around Labor day .... Any suggestions for great value (points) Hotels in the city... did a quick search through SPG, Marriot, Club Carlson, Marriot.. and didn't seem like there was alot out there... SPG has some expensive point wise ones like the "W" .. but almost none take cash and points...

I was thinking possibly the Sheraton for 12k SPG .. otherwise I'm thinking of paying cash for the "W" considering they want 20k a night there .

any suggestions ... (obviously want to be in the city, prob mid-town - time square area ..
Pleas hold. Your call will be answered in the order it was received.
