- 2 hrs enough for a tour?
- how would it compare to Yad veshem or the Holocaust museum in DC

going to the Barclays next week on my BRG
anything i should know- is it worth trying the $20 trick to upgrade
where is good to eat near there
anything nice to do that is close to the hotel

Not sure what the upgrade trick is but they were not very friendly to me and when i asked for upgrade they said NO until i showed them email from Gm saying they would upgrade me and they still tried not to until i asked for a manager then they made me foreword the email and gave me a suite but lacked any type of service and apparently was the worst suite in hotel, As after the showers the fire alarm went off and security came to the room to shut it and said they never knew they still had rooms that had the old bathrooms with no vents inside.

Landing in JFK and going to the Ohel, are there any cafés/restaurants nearby for a quick bite? Something decent...

Try central avenue (5 Towns) or Main street (Queens). Both have a nice selection of places to eat.

IINM the closest thing would be Benny's pizza in union turnpike. But may be quicker to go to central avenue and have a shorter ride back to the airport
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Is the pizza place decent looking? I'll be with people who don't keep kosher so I need a decent looking place

Main Street in KGH is about 5 minutes further and has a lot more places to eat

You can try Cafe Muscat - http://www.yelp.com/biz/cafe-muscat-fresh-meadows?nb=1

Here is a list of all the places under the Vaad of Queens - http://www.queensvaad.org/establishment_search.php

Try Turnpike Cafe. It's on Union, only a 10 minute drive to the Ohel. It's a more upscale milchig place (similar to Muscat). I've only been there once, but I enjoyed it.

Slightly different styles, but basically same class. Muscat is a bit more spacious for the most part.

What would make your list of the top 5 restaurants with the best ambiance in the New York Metropolitan area area?
Preferably dairy.

I'm willing to drive an hour+..., and the food doesn't have to be the greatest, just decent.
Main thing I'm looking for is ambiance.  It should go w/o saying, a reputable hechsher as well.
Lower prices wouldn't hurt ;) .
It can be a cafe, lounge, restaurant, etc, as long as the food is Chalav and Pas Yisrael.
I'd greatly appreciate any recommendations, asap.

TIA!

Top 3 are probably:

1. Reserve Cut
2. Prime at the Bentley
3. Abigaels? (Very quiet, not great views)

You didn't know Reserve Cut has a dairy part?  ::)

Anyway, missed the dairy bit, but it doesn't matter because I don't believe any have a particularly nice ambiance.

Thank you AJ!

Is there anything outside of NYC that you'd recommend?

(It doesn't have to be ridiculously expensive ;) )
