Is there a way to renew a passport faster than the (up to) 4 weeks it says it will take?

Cost?

never heard 4 weeks! IME a,week-10 days.
but you can print a travel intin of an earlier date and show it for the consulate with a reason "sisters wedding" "my mom broke her hip" etc. and he'll rush it for you

thanks...think he will accept having an appt at misrad hapnim for student visa and get it back within a week?

i got an appt at us consulate for 10/29 and misrad hapnim appt is 11/11...might be a drop to early and if i try and get a new appt it'll be at least a month

I wud just bring along an intin for 11/8 and try to convince the consulate

You can one in 2 hours. It's only valid for a year, and you can come back anytime during the year (but not 1 day later) and exchange for a full passport for free

Did you try the MVC's website? If you have a digital license, if I remember correctly you could do it online. Though you need to get a PIN from them in order to log in the first time. You need to go to the site and when you try to log in it'll let you request a PIN which gets mailed to you.

Make a regular passport appointment, and when you get there ask them to do it. AFAIK, u dont need an itin, but bring one along just in case

new consulate is a breeze, plenty of free parking and easy to access...they said could expedite it but the hurricane might throw things off

they were very friendly and quite helpful...

consulate gave me a call asking when i can come...passport is ready! just 5 days even with sandy!

Not saying that he for sure knew what he was talking about, but the guy told me 2 weeks ago that they only do the temps here
