I don't know what an HC means, but I assumed he was questioning my sample dates being on shabbos, to which I answered same day change by someone in a dif time zone can move the flights later.

You can book with either, though cancellation period via Orbitz is typically longer.

Cancelling with Orbitz is a major PITA though. You can also use vouchers on UA.com

isn't NY to LA more expensive ? so by adding ONT it drops it because its a hidden city ?

I was able to cancel online 36 hours later with Orbitz.  What was the PITA?
Wouldn't be able to do that with UA.

Obviously if someone has vouchers they know where to use em.
