Chas v'shalom this is good thanks! We like critics with thought. Just to say its bad u sound like an idiot - but this is good we will work on it thanks
Phew.
Now that I know we're cool, let me give you some further insight into how I feel about this...
As you may have noticed, (with my apologies to Dan,
) Dan is a little trigger-happy with the exclamation points on the front page. For example, "Today Only! Get $39.99 Off $60 At Shoebuy!" "Lenovo M0520 Speakers, Normally $29.99, Now On Sale For $8.99 Shipped!" "Lowest Price Ever! Canon PowerShot ELPH 110 HS For Just $129.99 Shipped From Amazon!" There is rarely a deal posted that doesn't have an exclamation point in it, and the really exciting ones get "HOT!" "HURRY!" "SIZZLING!!!" appended to them to boot. Why is that?
I may be wrong about this, but my humble opinion is that it's because Dan's Deals is meant to be an "exciting" site, so to speak. This site isn't just some boring list of deals, like the classifieds in a newspaper; it's meant to draw the user in, with a sense of exuberance over all the amazing deals he/she is about to get in on. It's supposed to look like Candyland for the deal-seeker. "Wow! Look at all this AMAZING stuff!!! Can you BELIEVE how lucky you are??!! Grab this stuff while you can!!!" (And click a few ads and referral links too, please, while you're at it.
)
That being the case, I feel that a logo representing such a site should have a bit of pizzazz. Not too much, not too busy and graphic-y, since that'll make it as unpopular as animated GIFs; rather, subtle with a hint of excitement. Say, muted colors (like the green already present) - with a splash of, say, bright red here and there. Not enough to overwhelm the graphic with retina-damaging garishness; just enough to give it a little "pop". A little pinch of flavor.
Am I making any sense?
