Continental elite award booking
« on: April 28, 2010, 09:56:24 PM »
Today I booked a award ticket on continental, I used an elite account to find the flights, then opened a new window and logged out than logged back in using a non elite account and then successfully booked the ticket from the original window. Can I get in trouble for this?

nah, Ive booked from my acct for friends who lets say didnt have enough miles in their acct at the time. I didnt travel they were issued Elite Access BPs since it came out of my acct and were tickled pink, I also was able to get them better seats and due to their so called status they ended up with the middle seat empty to/from Europe in teh Premium section.

CO really doesnt have a good IT team

I don't think he meant what you are talking about. He means he booked it from the non-elite account but got the availability through the elite account- pure genius!

Is there a difference between silver, gold and platinum in terms of award availability?

I understood what he meant, all I was saying was heres another situation where CO allows something which they shouldnt and there was no problems with it, so dont worry about what you did

In my case the people I booked for shouldnt have ben able to get Elite Access and all the goodies that comes along with being a CO Plat, including getting them into the so called Premium Seating area

Once COs computer tags them as Elite it will never do a check to see if in fcat the passenger is, I believe this wouldnt be possible on some other carriers sinc ethey have amuch better cross checking system in place. It will see none of the passengers are Elite and thusly it wont extend Elite benefits to them unless the Elite member is traveling with them on the same PNR

Yes, Silvers and Golds only have expanded Saver Coach availability, Plats have expanded First/BusinessFirst availability.
