help with ID THEFT
« on: October 25, 2012, 02:07:17 PM »
my blood pressure/heart rate is taking an escalation..
I open my email to find out creditsecure alerts me about a significant change on my credit report...
turns out, a hard inquiry from Capital One, that I haven't got any idea what this is all about.
all I know CAP pulled my CR for a credit card application ???

obviously I'm gonna try to dispute and so on. however should I be worried of id theft and if so, chas"vesh what are my immediate steps ?

I might sound panicking but I always thought of id theft, ad something very hard to get out of. am I right?

thanks for your help

Freeze your credit reports. Will be free u for life to freeze and unfreeze. Call cap 1 and make sure they don't issue someone else a cc in your name
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

I know that, but just by keeping others from attaining credit in my name, doesn't help me when I wanna use credit etc.

besides that I'm not in mood to have freezer-burnt CR's

Creditor, you don't evrn know what the pull was for or why it happened.

The first thing you should be doing is calling cap1, not posting here. . .

I wouldn't make jokes like that. Its really not fun to be in his situation and I doubt if you would be in it you would want someone to say that
