A day in ZRH would prob be good.
Also SQ has a flight on the 19th in J which trumps UA F.
I just realize dif i do a day in ZRH it throws off the next 2 flight, which messes me up for shabbos. unless you think it might be better to spend shabbos in Bangkok rather than Phuket

Good point! thanks!

JFK-ZRH is available on the 5th in F, but that would mean 2 nights in ZRH.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Well just the flights I posted would be 145k CO but I'd need to buy some individual flights as well

I would suggest you fly to Samui from phuket. As I've said phuket weather that time of year is unpredictable... Samui is much better. You would need to fly bangkok airways phuket to Samui direct... Samui Chabad house is very nice, and shabbos there is great. Their restaurant is also great and costs pennies.. (almost)

Not sure when you're planning on traveling but it's quite likely things in BKK will be quieting down over the next few weeks, as the government has agreed to negotiate for early elections... but anyway Samui would be nicer.

Thailand has some great shopping!! and hotels there are great.. (check out the JW Marriott Phuket, usually can get for about $130 a night...) There  are other hotels which have access to the pools straight from the room (you open the door and jump in to the pool..) pretty neat!

Using a Continental award we’re allowed one stopover in addition to destination.  So I’m thinking into Phuket, open jaw out of Singapore – so would need separate travel from Phuket/Ko Samui to Singapore.  Then we’d do Singapore – Hong Kong <stopover> - Home.  While in Hong Kong, you could visit Macau (ferry from the Hong Kong airport pre-immigration, and could do separate Macau – Beijing – Macau ticket.

7/7 New York JFK – Zurich, 8:55pm – 10:50am+1, Swiss First Class LX15
7/8 Zurich, Bangkok, 1:30pm – 5:30am+1, Thai Airways First Class TG971
7/9 Bangkok – Phuket, 7:35am- 9:00am, Thai Airways Business Class TG201

7/19 Singapore – Hong Kong, 6:40am-10:30am, United Airlines First Class UA896

7/31 Hong Kong – Istanbul, 11:05pm – 5:25am+1, Turkish First Class TK71
8/1 Istanbul – Frankfurt, 8:25am-10:35am, Turkish Business Class TK1587
8/1 Frankfurt – Newark, 1:15pm – 3:40pm, Lufthansa First Class LH402

Thoughts anyone?

WOW! How can you possibly make so many flight with such littel miles (you said 145K CO)?
Is it just sitting on the phone with a CO rep. for an hour asking them to check every possible connection?
Or is there a do-it-yourself kinda way?
Thx!
