Using someone else's FFN when applying for credit card
« on: October 25, 2012, 06:52:52 PM »
Please excuse me if this was asked before. I have a friend who is willing to apply for a variety of credit cards and let me get the rewards. My question pertains directly to airline/ hotel credit cards.

Can one apply for lets say the CITI AA visa for 50,000 miles and instead of entering their FFN, they could enter mine? Will the bank check to see if the accounts match? Would it be possible to do something similar with the Amex hilton card per say?

Thanks in advance :)

It's YMMV.  I've had it work with Citi AA before and then I've had to call up re the Chase BA because the BA account was in my married name and the CC was in my maiden name.

Dont' forget that with the Chase BA card (or any BA cards), you can combine your BA accounts all into a Family or Household account. That way the miles earned on all cards go into essentially one ba account.

...but then you're stuck booking for household members. And you can't sell it, if you're into that sort of thing.
