It looks likes Starwood Amex is no longer churn able I don't know how Dan did it because I kept my star woods number blank when I filled the application and after 5k in spend no points at all spoke to customer service and they told me that the system has changed and now it's once red 12 months I called supervisors and tried huca after 10 attempts and threatening to cancel they basically were jerks and awful don't know what else to do I'm upset

youd think so, i wrote abput this, this past summer, when i applied for amex plat MB and my sec spg under my english name and i got accepted for spg but verry low CL and i got declined for the MB bec i had no previous credit history, called up expirian, and under my hebrew name i had 10 cards with very high CL though under my english name they saw one spg card and nothin doin, i asked the same q as u did, and they said were sorry but this is the way it is, not only that my real name (hebrew) didnt even get a pull (since my sucessfull 2bm of united club/explorer) pesach time - 4 months earlier

Dan got his points because only applies for Starwood once a year, he applied last year during the 30k promo, so of course he got his points for this year.

Doesn't matter if he kept his old SPG open, there's nothing in the new T&C about having to close your old SPG and wait 12 months. It just says wait 12 months.

Now for the plat/gold/green/zync, then yes, you need to close your card and wait 12 months.

As I said in another post, I have an Amex SPG personal active for over 4 years and I did not yet receive the initial 10k for my latest application after my first statement. I have not applied for this card since I got the first one and yes I left the SPG# blank. It appears to be YMMV, not sure how Dan got it.

I applied for the SPG business at the same time, and did receive the 10k after first statement. I left this one blank as well and Amex assigned the same SPG# to both.
