Getting Plat bonus while having a PRG is a big YMMV, there I nothing to do.

From what I know its the same family, with the Green and Zync too

I dont find what Mesuganer is doing - to have Plat with no sign up so difficult to understand.

A free lounge Pass, Much better benefits with purchase protection and 2x $200 Airline credits

True . But keeps the 12 month clock running for next plat application with bonus for
outsiders like me who haven't figured out how to do the impossible yet

Keeping a Gold card open also keeps the clock running.

I dont know what meshugener intention is, just trying to justify that its not a crazy idea

If I closed my personal Starwood a year ago but have had the Starwood Biz in the interim, will they give me bonus? Also if I downgraded is that the same as closing the account, in regard to getting the signup bonus a year later?

I'm not getting you.wouldn't the new app you did prolong your 12-month-no-plat status which means you'll have a problem next time applying for a bonus plat ?

Does anyone have recent data on a plat and gold 2bm, whether or not they got the signup bonuses? Assuming they did not have either product within last 12 months and then signed up for both together.

applied for 100k plat and 75k gold
when i called to activate plat , i asked about 100k bonus they said cant get both 100k for plat and 75k for gold

FYI-

I was targeted for 100k Plat and 50K PRG in Nov. Applied and met spend within a week. After statement close, I received both bonuses.

Just applied for my wife today, the same as the above and fingers crossed that I can get both again. Hoping that the recent madness won't cause AMEX to halt this whole thing.

Didn't ask them ,before i activated the platinum wanted to make sure my rsvp was added first for the 100k after going back and forth for over a week they got back to me and they said that since i applied for the gold at the same day i could get either one and they will take off a $100 dollars for the $450 fee for a total of $350 dollars for the first year of the plat.
want to make clear i never called them yet about the gold 75k bonus and they said they see it that i applied in the same day, that's why they didnt give me the 100k for the plat

I've been applying for the plat and keeping it for a yr for various reasons. In my case the new terms make me think I should cancel sooner to reset the clock.

Recently YMMV always with AMEX unless its your first and only MR or SPG or DL card.
