Changed name passport?
« on: October 31, 2012, 11:48:02 AM »
Does anybody know if my wife will have problems flying with her passport that has her old maiden name if she changed her name legally 3 months ago due to marriage? Will US customs flag her and not let her through?

as long as passport and name on ticket match you are fine...nothing to worry about...i have same situation...they dont care even if officially your legal lastname has changed...

i've been traveling as such for 3 years w/o trouble...bah

they told me that you do not need to change the passport until it expires even if you have legally changed the name for SS, IRS, marriage license etc;

safe travels!

I had the same issue, we flew to Mexico we just put her maiden name on the ticket and we had no issue.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

My wife has an ElAl ticket with our married name on it, but her passport is still in her maiden name. I posted about this and was advised to call ElAl and ask. They said if I bring my marriage certificate all will be good.

I just noticed I booked my wife's ticket in August on ELAL from JFK-TLV with her maiden name and recently got a new passport with her married name on it.

I called ELAL they said it shouldn't be a problem from ELAL to check in, The more concern they said will be Airport security in JFK and Ben Gurion.

Any suggestions.. we are flying in 2 weeks

What should I do?

Elal didn't even mention that the ticket didn't match the passport, ditto for TSA. I'm flying back tomorrow, well see how it goes with the Israelis.

I recently booked a ticket for my sister in IL.

When she comes to America I always book the ticket with 2 last names (ex. Cohen-Katz) since her American passport only has her maiden name and her Israeli passport has her married name.

She's never had any problems so far.

I booked her a ticket today from TLV-ZRH and VCE.

I forgot to add her married name (which is on her ISraeli passport) so I am going to call and add it but just wondering if she'll have any problems in those specific countries.

Anything I am missing or not aware of? ( The reason I don't just book it with her Israeli Passport is since all her hotel stays etc are booked with her maiden name through her accounts (SPG, Hilton ETC)

TIA

I'm not sure I understand the exact situation, but if the name matches her American Passport why not just use that one?

When she comes back into Israel she needs to show her Israeli Passport. When she leaves they always ask to see it as well.
My question is if the other countries will make her trouble because there will be an extra name on her ticket that's not on her American Passport (though she could always show them her Israeli one)

If she has both passports it should not be a problem. However like always call your TA or airline and have them insert an OSI message on the ticket so the situation is documented and easily accessible.
