Money Order & Cash spending
« on: November 01, 2012, 07:49:07 PM »
I need to pay over $2700 in money order/checks

I really rather use my credit card for that, is there any way to get a money order/ check with CC?

Tricky. I heard walmart used to, but I don't think it works anymore.

If you can find that, it's an easy way to mint miles. Also, some places/cards might consider it a cash advance.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

How would you mint miles?

If it doesn't charge CA fees, then the <$1 money order fee is insignificant.

I don't know what CA fees are but I once sent a money order of about $1200 and it cost me around $60 IIRC
It wasn't in California if that's what CA is

Money orders typically cost less than a dollar. Paying with credit could incur Cash Advance (CA) fees.

Ahhhhh well then don't do your money orders @ Rite Aid  (I gave them cash) cause they'll rip you off
At least I think they will it may have been user error as I'm not very experienced with money orders

I agree. With most money orders, using a credit card involves a hefty transaction fee. Another option is to go to your bank and get a cashiers check, but there are no points for that.
