OT, but Hyatt Diamond treatment is light-years ahead ahead of SPG/HH/MR.  I know they are short on hotels but it's more than compensated for in just how awesome they treat you.

I agree but the 2 Hyatts in Israel have also gone good-bye and like SPG there just arent enough around where I need them to be. Heck once pass Parsipanny NJ theres nothing till Cayhua Falls,OH, yet there are penty of Hamptons or Fairfields and even some Courtyards in PA along the I-80  and tons of Holiday Inns

I think after Jersey City the next hyatt is in dearborn till it deflags in the near future

A very good reason for spraeding the wealth is take Belgium, not 1 Hyatt, the only *Ws are in Brussels, Antwepern has a Hilton and thats it, Ghent has a Marriott and thats it (the 2 Holiday ins are so far from the Centre its not funny), and Brugge has a Crowne Plaza and thats it.

London is ok with Hiltons and Marriotts but Hyatt and *W are left far behind, Rome a nice choice of *W no Hyatt except for Milano and who wants to go there.

i know there are some awesome Hyatts in Asia but I can find other chains taht will do for me. So I'll leave Hyatt to everyone else

Well, since you're well within your cancellation time frame, why don't you go right ahead and book the stay and then call back later to cancel the extra nights, and let us know if it works for you. :D

just back from a day at Ein Boqeq or better put Fattal Land

They own the whole South side, the old NovoTel is now Leonardo, the old Nivara is now Leonardo Club, the old Sheraton is now Leonardo Plaza

the old Lem in Haifa is now called Le Leonardo why do i have the feeling there will be a Le Leonardo in Ein boqeq in the near future

that leaves 4 other main Hotels not theirs, Isrotel (old Ceasar) Daniel (old Golden Tulip) royal and Crowne Plaza

Usually there are ways to override systems like that with the help of a maintenance worker.

I'm not sure about that particular hotel, but the crowne plaza in jerusalem had the same setup. There was a card in the room showing you how to turn it on "shabbos mode"

Anyone know if there are kosher restaurants (mehadrin) at the Dead Sea these days?

Does C/P at the Le Meridien include breakfast...is the food mehadrin at all?

Thanks!

There are no mehadrins out there and the hotel also not. Breakfast is not included and they make sure to let you know this very clearly by check-in. Did you manage to book a room there? How?

Cafe Cafe just opened a branch at the Dead Sea and I spoke with the Mashgiach to ascertain its' kashrus status. For the benefit of the DDF world, I'm posting the information I received here.

Don't necessarily accept this as a conclusive recommendation to eat there and as always, ask your LOR.

Officially, the restaurant (it's a dairy one) is Mehadrin under the local Rabbanut. For those who aren't familiar w/ the local kashrus scene, legally a restaurant is required to have a local certification from the Rabbanut even if they have a national one e.g. Eidah or Rubin etc; Hence, you will see plenty of establishments w/ two.

The Mashgiach said that the vegetables are all Eidah Chareidis w/ the greens under R' Efrati. The fish is under Rubin and Eidah. The milk and cheeses are Mehadrin.

If you're so inclined, you can call the restaurant at 08-658-1688 and ask for the Mashgiach.

Enjoy!
