Also wearing shoes that are water proof and walking in the part that has water is lots of fun.
Thanks. Hard to decide on water shoes or sneakers for the hiking. Will probably wear sneakers and just take them off if we go into water.

You want to wear the shoes in the water, you will be stepping on rocks, You can also use the water shoes for Yam Hamelech if you are going to take a dip.

I'm looking for a guided tour of Masada, one that only includes Masada itself & not transportation from Jerusalem.

any ideas?

I was there in the beginning of may and they were redoing the beach so half was closed off so find out if they finished their construction
I was there just for the day so I don't know about the hotel itself

Decent place, not as nice as the LMDS.
When I was there in Feb, most of their beach was closed for work. You can call them to double check.

Wanna go to the dead sea next weekend, not seeing any good redemption options, and honestly I think 30k IHG is too much. Will probably pay for cash hotel / hotels.com got a 3ppd deal right now with UR Portal.. Any hotel reccomendations?

Anyone go to the crown plaza Dead Sea recently.  Is the beach open? Any trip report on the hotel itself.  Does the 30k ihg points get you breakfast.  Does platinum get you anything?

Has anyone been to Hod Hamidbar Resort and Spa Hotel, it rated #1 on trip adviser. Also anyone know which hotels are kosher in the dead sea area?

As far as my inquiries went I was told they're all varying levels of "kosher". You need to ask each hotel what their standards are.

Didn't see this mentioned here, so FYI to all:

Renovations at the Crowne Plaza Dead Sea have finished and the private beach is open again.  Also, they now have renovated Club Rooms and a Club Lounge.  Don't know what the payup is to add it to a points booking, but this probably makes the hotel a much more lucrative redemption now (keep in mind, very limited choices for dining in the area).
