Router for wireless network
« on: June 23, 2008, 11:12:35 AM »
I'm trying to build a wireless network with a very wide range-over 100 feet. I have no clue to where I need to start. I have already a computer connected to a cable modem and a laptop with a wireless card. What else do I need?

Get an open source router like a Linksys WRT54GL, then follow this guide: http://lifehacker.com/software/router/hack-attack-turn-your-60-router-into-a-600-router-178132.php

I haven't tried this out myself yet, although I hope to do it soon.

thanks everyone, I'll try it.

Theres also range extenders, not sure how previously mentioned hacking will work, but ive seen it mentioned relatively often.
