AFAIK  there is no way to book the GRAN on points, is staying in the park worth spending that much (around 700+ for 2 nights)?
Is there what to see in terms of nature in Manuas area , and would sunday suffice?
P.s Ever since watching Rio (and subsequently @Dan Hand Gliding). its been on my bucket list , if anyone has contact info. Would appreciate it

The thing to do in Manaus is take a boat ride on the Amazon.
@Something Fishy may be able to help as I haven't done the research on Manaus yet.
There should be a TR on Manaus on DDF as well if you search.

To me points are just another currency so that wouldn't affect my decision, the question is whether its worth it over staying outside of the park for a fraction of the cost.
(And it would actually be around 1100$ or 70kUR = PH)
Sugar loaf Mt and Corcovado are on my list.

Did you take the Jeep tour in Tijuca rainforest ( largest urban rainforest in the world) ?
 
What does @Dan have against visiting Favelas? And did u visit?

IMHO its worth $700+ (so book with A+, MR or UR and call it points )

Copacabana beach (fort and museum while you're at it especially if you stay at the JW)
dont know how you feel about the Corcovado (we gave it a miss) you can go to the Botanical Garden at the bottom though
or Jeep tour in the Tijuca rain Forest
Is visitng a Favela your thing? (i think Dan would advice against, based on his experience ) otherwise Vidigal and the Dois Irmãos hike are recommended by some sites

for us it meant being the only ones in the park for 2 hours in the morning and again in the evening

Favela's didn't interest me, I've been to Soweto and Alexandra in JNB

I stayed outside the park for a fraction of the price, I'd never stay inside the park

1) the Argentine side hotel is a crumbling active construction site but regardless we left the park when it was dark & i'd never pay the inflated prices for the Belmond

Tx so much for that insight, as i am def. Staying on the Argentinean side and was seriously considering pulling the trigger on the Gran Melia

I saw officially you can't bring meat into Brazil, does anyone know is that raw meat or cooked meat?
Did anyone have a problem with bringing in cooked meat or tuna or canned vegetables or any food in particular?

I think you can officially bring in 5kg per person from Argentina. I'm not sure if the US is different.

Trying to start planning a short trip Sun Morn-Thur night, with packing in as much sites as possible. I usually do things quickly and don't mind a bit  of rushing....

1) Is GRU a must or just food....
2) Is it possible to do IGU & IGR in one day? (I have done both sides of Victoria in 1/2 day)

+1, while it is definitely possible to do both sides in one day, you will be able to see a lot more and go to a more leisurely Pace if you split over two days. If you want, you can spend the night in Puerto Iguazu which is going to be cheaper than spending it at the Falls, and then continue to the other side the following day.

Most shuls/restaurants are in Copacabana, which you're quite far from, especially during Rio's brutal rush hour. Check with Chabad of Leblon to see if they have a daily minyan. Or better yet, find something in Copa.

You can use AA/BA on LATAM (PUTPAC), UA on Azul, or Delta on GOL. Probably make more sense to find a flight right from GIG-IGU when you land IMHO.

Now im thinking of going directly to IGU then MAO then fly back for shabbos to GIG and stay at the GH Rio,
