Kosher Food Options
Contact Chabad Parana for updated information regarding any Kosher food there. Otherwise plenty of snacks and fruits.

Hotels with Points
None.

Airport Transfer Options
Cab - They are metered from FLN to where you are going. We stayed in Barra Lagoa and it was R$55.
Executive Bus - Yellow buses go between major destinations to the airport and bus terminal - R$6.
Public Bus - Not from the airport. But from the bus station it's tricky but doable - R$3.

Major Activities
Water-sports and relaxing. During peak-season (Dec-Jan) there is plenty to do, such as scuba diving, gliding, boat tours and more. We were there during winter break (Jul) and the waves were great for surfing, and the dunes at Joaquina were great for sandboarding.

There are beautiful beaches all over the island of Florianopolis. During the winter the north beaches tend to be the warmest as the wind doesn't attack it directly. Center/east beaches are really nice, the best for surfing, but can get cold. Mole and Joaquina are the most popular from those. Didn't trek down south on my trip there, but the beaches are supposedly great as well, though very calm and sleepy kind of towns next to them and people going fishing there.

A small town on the west side of the island, has a boardwalk and bicycle path along the water, nice place to go for sunset. Old historic architecture there, many buildings there hundreds of years old. It's about 10-15 minutes north of downtown FLN.

i have 1 full day in Rio. I am not sure if I should get a driver or takes cabs from place to place.  If so can I get a list of destinations to visit in the right order including a stop at the kosher restaurant.

Cabs are not cheap there like in BA. Enter the destinations in google maps and see your route.

As mentioned I have 12 hours in Rio from 9am - 9pm.  Arrive in SDU and Depart GIG.  Would appreciate a list of destinations that I could cab to in the correct order?  Instead of cabs I could also join a tour or get a driver?

A coworker of mine has been planning on going to Brazil for vacation for a while now. She is leaving in 2 weeks and had scheduled an appointment at the Brazilian Consul in NY to get her visa only to find out the NY consul is backed up and won't be able to approve her visa for 4 weeks. Does anyone know how or who to contact that can get her visa expedited and approved in the next few weeks? Any help is much appreciated.

Would Shabbat be easier in GRU or EZE? My current routing goes through GRU both ways so I can decide whether to go to GRU or  EZE first, for Shabbat.

Also I'm planning on skipping GIG because I don't want to cram 3 cities in 7 days, when you include Shabbat theres just not as much time. I'm wondering if I should I skip either GRU/EZE in favor of GIG. Can I get opinions of those that have been?

I spent shabbos in EZE and thought it was great, but to be fair I've never been to GRU. GIG was nice (in theory, it actually rained the whole time we were there) and is a lot more touristy that GRU. I'd skip GRU one in favor of EZE (still lot's of restaurants) or GIG (lot's of touristy things).

EZE has more infrastructure, lots of shuls to chose from, lots of takeout places, etc, but if you don't mind chabad I guess GIG is doable.

Current itinerary (waiting on hold with AA now to get it priced):
6/9 LAX-JFK-GRU
6/10 GRU-EZE
6/17 GIG-GRU-MIA-LAX
And using Avios for EZE-GIG on Sunday/Monday.

Sounds good to me. There's no availability LAX-DFW/JFK-EZE straight?
Same with return, no more-direct routing?
Consider AEP-GIG on Aerolineas Argentinas. I know it's not avios, but the airport is a lot closer than EZE is to the city.

You should add IGR/IGU somewhere in that itinerary.

I'd say the same, but with the limited time you'd have to cut out something. He could go to IGR on Sunday morning and then IGU-GIG on Mon night. Anyway 2 days in IGR/U is enough.

Consider AEP-GIG on Aerolineas Argentinas. I know it's not avios, but the airport is a lot closer than EZE is to the city.
I have Barclaycard Arrival rewards so that will be perfect for Aerolineas Argentinas. Thanks for the tip!
I think going to IGR is too much. We only land in EZE Wednesday night. So that would leave only 3 days in EZE, one of them being Shabbat. As much as I would love to see IGR, I don't think that it would definitely come at the expense of either EZE or GIG. I am hoping to only leave EZE Monday at this point.

This is currently the best routing available. Thanks to AA's free changes to routing so long as origin/destination remains the same, I am fairly hopeful that a more direct routing will become available. In that case, we can maybe add in IGR since we will be spending less time traveling.

Wed-Mon night is a long time in EZE. Don't get me wrong, you can do things there, but we can discuss that in the Argentina thread. I think there's time to do IGR/U if you wanted. Definitely amazing, and unless you have plans to go back soon I'd do it at the expense of BsAs.

Pardon my ignorance- does IGR/U mean IGR/GRU?
The thing is I'm not really counting Wed at this point as we land so late. I was able to find an earlier flight that would get us into AEP earlier in the morning, but I'm hesitant to book it because if I end up finding a better routing to EZE I would have to pay a change fee (the itin is currently on hold till Friday).

Can IGR be done in one day? I know that it's supposed to be remarkable, but I'm more into cities than nature. Maybe we can spend Sunday morning-Monday morning there, and continue to GIG for about 48 hours?
