So you're asking if you can access it as a transit passenger to a third country? That I don't know. Why don't you email them back and ask them to clarify. If it were another country like Canada which you were connecting in (US-Canada-Brazil) and the room was in the international terminal it wouldn't be an issues, but I don't know how it works in GRU.

ETA: From this map it looks like it's within a transit area, but I don't know for sure.

What's this I hear about the airline not letting you on your outbound connection in Brazil without some medical papers?

Someone just told me that if you connect in Brazil even if you never leave the airport, the can require certain immunizations.

Any info?

Don't know if it helps, but I have flown around Brazil without ever being requested for medical files.

FYI, I called South African Airlines. If you stop over in Brazil, you do need documentation to continue on to South Africa if a) you leave the airport or b) even if you do not leave the airport but have a layover of longer than 12 hours.
