Kosher Food Options
Contact Chabad Parana for updated information regarding any Kosher food there. Otherwise plenty of snacks and fruits.

Hotels with Points
None.

Airport Transfer Options
Cab - They are metered from FLN to where you are going. We stayed in Barra Lagoa and it was R$55.
Executive Bus - Yellow buses go between major destinations to the airport and bus terminal - R$6.
Public Bus - Not from the airport. But from the bus station it's tricky but doable - R$3.

Major Activities
Water-sports and relaxing. During peak-season (Dec-Jan) there is plenty to do, such as scuba diving, gliding, boat tours and more. We were there during winter break (Jul) and the waves were great for surfing, and the dunes at Joaquina were great for sandboarding.

There are beautiful beaches all over the island of Florianopolis. During the winter the north beaches tend to be the warmest as the wind doesn't attack it directly. Center/east beaches are really nice, the best for surfing, but can get cold. Mole and Joaquina are the most popular from those. Didn't trek down south on my trip there, but the beaches are supposedly great as well, though very calm and sleepy kind of towns next to them and people going fishing there.

A small town on the west side of the island, has a boardwalk and bicycle path along the water, nice place to go for sunset. Old historic architecture there, many buildings there hundreds of years old. It's about 10-15 minutes north of downtown FLN.

Does it make sense to do a 1 day stopover (12 hours) in GRU, or there is too much to do there and make a separate trip out of it?
Is everything far from GRU?

If you are already coming to the city for the restaurant scene, there is plenty to do in GRU. Mercado municipal is a great fruit marketplace right in the center of downtown. You can sample there many unique Brazilian fruits from the vendors. Just a block away from there is the happening Vinte Cinco marketplace, a row of 5-10 blocks with everything (think knockoffs) for cheap.

Views of São Paulo are incredible from both Edificio Banespa and the unique hotel. Both of them allow you to go up to the sky deck for free. Many more places to explore nearby too.

I can either route thru GRU or go a different way, so was wondering if worth to waste a day. Not much of a foodie so wouldn't go special for that

Ok time to hit up Brazil for the first time.

IYH have tickets to go in 2 weeks for 2 weeks

Trip will be with our 2 kids (age 2.5 and 8 months ) - First time going more then 3 hour flight and international with them...wish me luck..

General idea is :
Motzei shabbos MIA-GIG land Sunday 10am
Spend there till tues eve
Fly to GRU till Friday then head up with our relatives that live there to Campos do Jordao

Originally we had planned to stay in Campos (like upstate NY style but supposedly nicer) from Friday till the next Sunday (8 days - 2 shabbosim) and kinda chill family style with our relatives.
but thinking about I feel like its too long and wasting time in that part of the world.

My thoughts are to go for that last shabbos (thurs-Sunday night) to Chile or Peru as long as flight availability allows us to. Or maybe Igazu if those don’t work

Thoughts , adivce?

Campos is nothing special unless you live in a gross city like GRU.
Go to IGU. Or MAO.

Not sure about MAO with 2 little kids, if OP is looking to venture into the forest a little and stay for a night or two there.

+1 on Campos being nothing special. People from GRU flock to Campos and Atibaia to get away for the weekends when they can.

why not go to campos for the shabbasim and go to Iguazu mid week for a few days. make sure to go the argentine side too. I think Manuas is a pit and not worth it unless youre going on the amazon but with kids thats not a good idea either.  Go to IGU - you wont regret it.

Manaus city is a pit, the only reason why people go to Manaus is for the Amazon only.
