Kosher Food Options
Contact Chabad Parana for updated information regarding any Kosher food there. Otherwise plenty of snacks and fruits.

Hotels with Points
None.

Airport Transfer Options
Cab - They are metered from FLN to where you are going. We stayed in Barra Lagoa and it was R$55.
Executive Bus - Yellow buses go between major destinations to the airport and bus terminal - R$6.
Public Bus - Not from the airport. But from the bus station it's tricky but doable - R$3.

Major Activities
Water-sports and relaxing. During peak-season (Dec-Jan) there is plenty to do, such as scuba diving, gliding, boat tours and more. We were there during winter break (Jul) and the waves were great for surfing, and the dunes at Joaquina were great for sandboarding.

There are beautiful beaches all over the island of Florianopolis. During the winter the north beaches tend to be the warmest as the wind doesn't attack it directly. Center/east beaches are really nice, the best for surfing, but can get cold. Mole and Joaquina are the most popular from those. Didn't trek down south on my trip there, but the beaches are supposedly great as well, though very calm and sleepy kind of towns next to them and people going fishing there.

A small town on the west side of the island, has a boardwalk and bicycle path along the water, nice place to go for sunset. Old historic architecture there, many buildings there hundreds of years old. It's about 10-15 minutes north of downtown FLN.

I don't blame you. Just because when I went it was fine, I guess these things kinda just spring up on a moments notice.

Lots of things to do here, though not as touristy as Rio, SP could still be lot of fun. For shopping you have some great street markets, like vinte cinco, liberdade, republica etc.. and lots of upscale malls all over the city. Not many good or even decent places to eat here unfortunately, there are a food ok places. and two really good places both in higienopolis, called Sushi Papaia and Nur.

If your just looking for attractions and must-sees, wikitravel and tripadvisor or both very helpful.

As of now AA has the cheapest rewards at 20k each way off peak. TAM will be joining the One World alliance so that is another option with AA miles.

I doubt it, but look on their website for rushed visas. When we applied it took 5 days.

Need some help planning a trip beginning of July.

I have 8 days to spend in brazil and argentina.... looking for some help with itinerary suggestions... Never been and don't know S. America at all. we want Rio, and buenos aires to end the trip with good food.. but in-between not 100% sure.. We're not interested in S. Paolo, we like more adventure and scenic places.. Shabbos we would like to go off the beaten path where we can find some adventure sports or some other fun, if there are such places with chabad houses...

Not sure we want to spend 2-3 days at falls without much else to do.. we're leaving families behind so we're looking to do the type of things you can't do with kids..

Any nice islands in July? places we can rent ATV's or bikes? Scuba would be great (we're licensed)...

Any help appreciated! Thanks
