Why would visa close my card for not using it?

this means I need to spent on each of my cards to keep them open?

Some suggest to make a purchase on all your cards every 6-12 months.

That i gathered, but was it a freedom visa, or a hilton visa, was it issued by chase, boa or some other place

He also said Visa closed it. Never heard that before.
