That doesn't seem to be what is indicated on (at least some of) the websites.
Does anyone have experience with any of these?
At least one of them (the cheapest one) seems to have an option to have the imprint done at a professional office in Hempstead.
Byte, candid, and sdc get full throated rejection from any dentist I spoke to. Yes they have a finicaial incentive.
But retired orthodontists that I spoke tod aud the same thing. No oversight. And they basically force teeth into a certain structure without properly taking into account the underlying bone and gum structure.
Otoh invisalign is managed by your dentist/orthodontist, and they can help decide what's the best for your general mouth.
I'm sure there more angles. But I'd stay far away from any direct to consumer aligners. And I say that having had a very awful job done by a traditional orthodontist.
The "professional office" that I went to for scanning for one of these had a standard 20 something year old receptionist wielding a 3d wand. Not anyone with any dental training.
https://www.byte.com/pages/faq read the faqs. No molar moving, can't fix overbites, etc.
I guess if you had tradition braces and want to correct some minor shifting years later there's a place for it.
In short: byte and SDC (i didn't do a candid deep dive) are designed for people who want nicer looking teeth, not healthier ones. Too big a risk imho to do direct to consumer without a dentist physically looking into your mouth]
