+1NY is really only unbearable for a week or two in the winter and a few weeks in the summer. Most of the summer is uncomfortable but not too terrible, not nearly as bad as FL. And what NY'ers call unbearable cold would probably be just an average day for CLE...I'm not saying the weather is great here, I would probably call it "consistently mediocre," it's usually not that great but it rarely gets really bad either.
Texas jobs that are available are not really Jewish jobs per se, there are tons of jobs if you are up to drilling wells, operating heavy equipment or driving rigs. For the rest of us there is churning credit cards
Or the subway stations... It's at least ten degrees hotter down there
I hate the cold, no such thing as a pleasant winter if theres snow on the ground

Boca= mouth Raton=ratDoes the name "Rat's mouths" have any bearing on the city or population?
In Spanish "Boca" means "mouth" and "Ratón" means "mouse" (not "rat" as is it is commonly mistranslated.) However, in nautical terms the word "Boca" refers to an inlet. The original name "Boca de Ratones" appeared on eighteenth century maps associated with an inlet in the Biscayne Bay area of Miami.
Does Chicago have the worst weather of any major city? Colder than YYZ in the winter, hotter than NYC in the summer. But hey, they have shallots and milts.
not hotter than NYC, and nice Lake Shore Drive - almost a beach. Skateboarding, biking, jogging.Better priced single family homes. Nice people. Good choice of schools and shuls. + good food.
How often do locals from Lincolnwood go to lake shore drive? Not sure it factors in to pros and cons.... But the housing is definitely much more reasonable and the people much nicer. Don't think the schools are any better than any similar sized Jewish community. And you do have two great restaurants.
MIA in the summer is just unbearable.
