Please - for the sake of my sanity - tell me that your total monthly mortgage cost (+ tax & insurance) is more than $700

Via http://money.cnn.com/infographic/real_estate/what-you-need-to-earn-to-afford-a-home/?iid=SF_LN
HSH.com determined the yearly before-tax salary a buyer would need to afford the total cost (including, principal, interest, tax and insurance) of a median-priced home in the 27 largest U.S. markets based on population. HSH used the average interest rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, and assumed buyers would make a 20% down payment and spend no more than 28% of their gross income for housing.

yes Lakewood is so much better. in 20 5 years it will be the same chicken coop that Brooklyn is now.
And in 5 years I'll be able to $100k out of my house to buy my dream house (if I feel that I'm not happy enough), how much money will you have put away in 5 years by paying rent?

Still not sure if it's pre or post tax/insurance (for me it's all bundled together, perhaps by you it's different)

He's one of the most confused individuals I've ever heard. One day he attacks the religous who believe that g-d is running the world day-to-day & the next day he's attacking the people who don't believe in g-d at all. So he wants us to believe there's a g-d but that he hasn't done anything since creating the world ?
+100.
As smart as he is,  I DO NOT LIKE HIM.

WOW!!! That's all I can say!! And here I thought that $2,800/mo is good (that's before a tenant and my mortgage is for 97% of the house)

I.E. Somewhere where at least the spring/summer/fall is great.
As opposed to east coasters who need to escape in summer and winter.

Or where car insurance cost 1/10th what it does in NYC and parking tickets are something you get when you rent a car in another city.

A little warmer than Toronto, but more snow.  Though Beachwood does an amazing job clearing the streets and sidewalks of the snow.

And yes, Clevelanders can afford to take that extra trip. Though we need it to make it through the winter :)
