So you think this can actually take off?

This a very unique situation. - a new litvish/yeshivish community in the tri state.
Forgive my ignorance but why is it any different than Waterbury?

Isn't that the middle of nowhere?
Aka tristate?
Approx An hour from NYC?

Isn't that the middle of nowhere? This is 25 min from BP and NYC, 45 min to Monsey, 60 min to lakewood, etc

So how does this work? Whenever one of these best/worst lists has CLE at the bottom of the list it's talking about CLE proper but not Beachwood where the jews live, but when CLE is on top it applies to Beachwood?

I highly doubt the median home price for those few blocks near the shuls in Beachwood is what's listed there...

(though whatever it is, it's probably half what I pay for rent on my (relatively) little apartment in Brooklyn )

You can look for yourself at prices :)
Plenty of houses can be had in the $130 range.

I can't seem to find it now but I seem to remember you saying in the past how Beachwood is far superior to University Heights, yet here you're lumping them together?

It seems anything on the Beachwood side is a lot farther from the shuls and/or far more expensive...

Though all in all I must admit you do make it sound very enticing...

That's because I'm a Beachwood born snob ;)

The majority of the community and most of our friends live on UH side and are perfectly happy with it.

The growth going on now is insane. 7 years ago we moved here with practically no other chabad couples our age. Now there are 30 couples!
Same story in the non-chabad shuls.

I think that's just a generational thing that is expected to happen every 20 years or so.

When your parents moved 25 years ago there were lots of new couples, now those kids grew up and that age is moving in...

There's gotta be more to it than that. just look at the disparity in availability and costs between the two

Of course there is, but whether it's worth the premium is highly debatable.

List them :P

I know 1 moved to law school largely because you were there, and another couple of them because they have family in the area.

Because I was here or because that was the best school he got into?

Young Chabad couples who moved to CLE over the past few years where neither grew up in CLE? Off the top of my head I can think of at least 10
Ama--
Berg---
Blo---
Bul---
Fit---
Gre---
Lev---
Mar---
Tor---
Wit---

There are more I'm forgetting and a couple more are moving here soon as well.

Fair enough.

FTR, I'm not debating your core argument here. I just don't think you can use these lists --which don't take into consideration the unique needs of the frum community-- as proof of anything. I don't care what the median home price is in the whole metro area, I care what it is in the specific neighborhood(s) I would live in.
They list $410k for NYC. I don't know if you can even get a studio apt for that in Crown Heights these days. You're not getting a house for less than a million without venturing out into the, for lack of a better word, "darker" parts of town.
