Wow. talk about attitude.....are all folks west of the Delaware river thin skinned or is it just a CLE thing?
As an outta town myself and having friends from many small communities. I think most of out of  towners are very proud of their city and take it personally if you knock it. I may be wrong, but I think it’s something unique to outta towners

From what I’ve heard, from cities like Cleveland and Detroit, people aren’t so happy that it’s shteiging in gashmiyus.
I heard the same in Lakewood, I also heard from others that where extremely greatfull על טעם וריח אין להתווכח

As a Pro for five towns, i gotta say i love the variety of quality kosher food options that all deliver.
whether its traditional (traditions), funkyish quality milchigs (lollybop), sushi (stopchoproll with buy 2 get 1 free), shnitzel/israeli (holy Schnitzel), Portuguese chickenshack (chimichurri), pizza (lots of options, though Davids is best and isnt online delivery) and even bagels and breakfast stuff (giant kosher bagel and central perk), they are all decent and reasonably priced, and we havent gone hungry staying at home and never complain about the same thing. Obviously we arent ordering every day, but probably 4 orders a week covering lunches and dinners when we are too busy to deal with it. and there are higher level options too (doma/cork/prime bistro), but im just a cheapo.

this happens in every growing community

I grew up in Monsey [NY] where everyone greeted each other, till it came to a point, קענסט מיך פון ערגעץ will never forget that moment

Reminds me of a true story with someone I know:

Him: “Good Shabbos.”

Stranger: “Excuse me, do I know you?!”

Him (shrugging): “Fine, so don’t have a good Shabbos...”

Where were they on the southside?
Washington Park. It stretched from 55 to past the skyway.
A number of churches there used to be Shuls.
Interestingly enough, the Adler Planetarium used to be someone's house (Adler Family)
West Side also had a large Jewish community

@Dan I'm scheduled to be in Cuyahoga Valley NP around 7am this Sunday. Meet me at 41.25488, -81.51963 with a box of Ungers. Thanks.
Is this an invitation to a DO?

Also you should try ///gravely.castle.personality instead of 41.25488, -81.51963
120 characters? Hmm, I wonder what I could write with 64 characters. Boy, it's gonna be hard to use up 15 characters. W-

Of course it is.
Cedar point happens to be the top rated amusement park in the world, and it's on a wonderful beach full of activities and trips to islands in the lake. Not your thing? Look up the emerald necklace or the museums or the halls of fame.

I can't take it anymore- when are you going to mention Whirlyball already? Or are you trying to keep that a secret?

The bigger question is was there a Whirlyball DO that was kept secret?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Lolol
not sure what you consider reasonably priced for quality kosher takeout, but generally i consider a good meat meal for about $60-80 for a family of 5 as reasonably priced. I honestly don't know where these options are cheaper, obviously not ordering and preparing food on your own is cheaper, but if both parents are working and they need to get delivery these prices make sense.

This of course does not address supermarket pricing (and other costs) in the five towns, which is clearly inflated compared to cheaper kosher neighborhoods, but that kind of supports the reasoning to buy more takeout when it isnt much more than gourmet glatt ramen...

I hear you.
Still weirded out about the explosion.
I would say the same about NY or NJ or anywhere, any day of the week.
If you are going on a vacation, look for a place that has something unique to offer. Cool weather, mountains, scenery ....
if its just the local sports team and a kosher takeout....It's just not worth the effort.

1. Could have been partially been the Laurent Perrier, Peraj Haabib, and Hibiki talking.

Just got back from @Akiva's wedding.
Mazel tov!

2. I think you need to differentiate between a vacation and a day trip/1 night trip. Some of my best memories are hopping on a plane for a <24 jaunt to try out some new kosher food and catch a ballgame or an awesome roller coaster or a run segway ride with my wife or with friends. Missing out on some real joys in life if you don't do that.

Getting nuts over a discussion about vacation destinations is just not worth it.

whatever.
I called CLE as a vacation destination boring, and then it hit the fan.
If that was too much for you to handle, I'm sorry.
Have a great shabbos.
