I could be off.  As I said, I don't have kids yet.  I know high school is definitely around there.

Maybe someone else can confirm elementary school prices.
Your off, last I checked full is around 11k after mandatory dinner etc. Couldn't of climbed that much

Edit: I'm talking about the black hat schools.

About 17K/18K for elementary...crazy stuff!

Not normal. How do people survive? Are the schools good about giving tuition breaks?

Did you see the link I posted?
Have another?

Besides for housing costing roughly 5x CLE, the school is double and you need at least an Acura to keep up with the Joneses.

I'm completely fascinated about how people in the frum communities live. I always wish I could take a peak at everyone's finances and see what's going on.  I wonder how some people do it.

They make a lot more money and the ones who don't get big tuition breaks.

See my edit.

You realize you are over generalizing. But I understand the stereotype

The people who like in LA.  It's not a cheap place to live.  You need to be making $100k+ rather quickly if you plan to raise a family here.  Those making $150k with a couple of kids are middle class.

You realize you are over generalizing.
Have a link for another LA school?
In what way am I "over generalizing?"

Don't get me wrong, I love LA perhaps more than any other city in the US and I'm always going back there to vacation and I spent 3 years learning there.  But boy does it have more than its fair share of cons as a city to raise a family.

I would add to the con list earthquakes (even though big ones may only come every couple decades they can be devastating) as well as the highest state income tax in the nation.

Some billboards are inappropriate, but if you live here you stop noticing them after a while.
That's the problem

Full tuition gives you the only apples-to-apples comparison.  Discounts off that vary based on personal factors.
Full in CLE starts at $8K but most people pay far less.  I doubt anyone in LA is going for the full rate of CLE.
