Why not just ask someone with a high post count to babysit?

You probably need to factor in that housing is more expensive in the frum areas. But quite interesting

Of course.  You'll probably need 2-3x any of these numbers to account for frum housing markets and private school tuition.

Are those numbers what they're saying is exactly enough to pay for housing/tax/insurance and then you need to make extra money to cover other life costs? Or are they saying that someone that makes that amount of money can afford housing/tax/insurance AND other life costs?

I'm guessing Detroit is not just Detroit....
But NY does include the Bronx. As in, it's one of the 5 boroughs that make up the City of NY. The City of Detroit is pretty well defined too, and I'm a little shocked to see a median price of $35k.

Ha. $89k for a house in LA? That's laughable. $89k for a down-payment is more reasonable.

89k is the yearly salary you need to make to be able to afford the average priced house in LA.

My mistake. Still hard to believe though, especially in the frum neighborhoods.

Obviously does not reflect Hancock Park. Median home price includes 30th and Hoover.

It is the Median (ie middle-point) priced house. Not Average priced.
