Use them as cash for any qualifying school (all the local jewish schools qualify).

You need that between all your federal income tax, provincial income tax, provincial sales taxes, goods and services tax...

Indeed, indeed.

Income taxes aren't that bad compared to NYC.
The real killer is the 13% sales tax. It's insane

What happens if the school system stops failing, vouchers stop?

Nope, once a kid is in the voucher system they can stay through 12.

Surprised you waited this long.

This is a real game-changer  and will definitely attract families who are being crushed by the housing/tuition burden in NY.

Will also help stabilize Mosdos going forward.

Kudos to AD Motzen and Yitz Frank of the Agudah for their amazing work in ensuring the frum community/schools benefit.

Net after voucher still more than ordinary NY/NJ (other than MO schools)

In town yeshivish schools anywhere from $5K to $10K per kid. Mine is mid range.

I was generalizing that out of town schools tend to be $15K+. It seems that HAC may be lower than the general OOT school, since this article from 2012 puts it at 8k-11k range (and I assume it hasn't risen wildly since then).

It's still in that range and they're very generous with scholarships.
