I know people who cherish their train ride as an undisturbed time for learning.

Paging @TimT. Didn't this commute discussion occur up thread?.

Is your software/firmware copyrighted, or is it available in the public domain, or under GPL or any similar free license?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Can someone do a pros/cons of Passaic?

Im looking for a younger yeshivish working community. Guys who are black hat white shirt type but went to work. Something on the East coast that's not a huge melting pot. I live in Lakewood now and I think Jackson is okay except that it runs off Lakewood infrastructure and I would rather my kids come out more well rounded than what I think the Lakewood schools will offer. My wife works as SEIT/P3 teacher (so she would be looking for such a job there)
and I work online.

I keep thinking that Passaic might be the answer. Is that a correct assumption? Where are the younger (upper 20's) guys going neighborhood wise and is housing halfway affordable? Any suggestion would really be appreciated.

Thanks!

Why the need to stay in NY metro?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I had some smoked beef strips from CLE this past shabbos, and they were well worth living there.

Wife is from Brooklyn and all family is there or Lakewood. She wont want to miss simchos etc if she lives too far etc family is very important and theyre all very close. Cleveland actually is on the radar but since Passaic is closer I want to look at that first. Happy wife= happy life. Im personally from Detroit but I wouldnt go back there for various personal reasons.

It's definitely true. We asked my mother to move from Monsey to Teaneck and my sister from Brooklyn to Teaneck to have us all closer together. Having (good) family nearby is invaluable. I'm still working on my in-laws and sisters-in-law.

Passaic is a nice community but it's not really very pretty.
