But the dollar amount (and definitely as a percentage of FMV) in Brooklyn is very low.
NYC income tax.

NYC income tax.

That depends on taxable income. While property taxes are irrespective of income.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Of course. My point is that for the average joe, you can't look at property tax alone.

Yes,  NYC is low.

Only in NY, not in CLE :P

It is very rare to have a total blackout in NYC. Though on occasion, due to old infrastructure, something very localized could happen. I lost power to my house a couple of months ago due to two wires feeding into my house burning out. And a couple of years ago several blocks in my area lost 1 phase of power, so some parts of the house worked and some didn't.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Does a flicker constitute a blackout ? I don’t remember a blackout since the big one.

I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

No. It doesn't.

Some areas lost power during hurricane Sandy, that was more recent than the big one.

Clearly I wasn't talking about a blackout if you read the comments.
A flicker is enough to turn off a desktop.

A laptop is much better off than a desktop, but it's not foolproof.
Wasn't talking about a laptop though.
Commenter claims the lights never flicker off in Brooklyn. Hence:

True or BS?

Near the water. More inland was fine IIRC

Is there a way to know (quickly) which comment you are referencing?
Commenter claims the lights never flicker off in Brooklyn.

I don’t recall the lights going off since 03

I won't say it never happens, but honestly I can't remember the last time it happened. I haven't been using a UPS for at least 5 years and I can't remember having a problem because of not having one.
