If I ever want to rent a car for a few hours or a day, there are always quite a few parked on my block.
Pro or con?

I'll allow you to figure that one out.  ;)

Just counted at least 5 on one side of the street in a span of half a block.

I wish NYC would provide me rent free space for my business too.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

You can steal a car in Cleveland too, probably even easier! :)

So you've taken care of the pro side, now how do you compare on the con side?

Do you mean to say the alternate side?

Right. The car rental company employees that come and move their cars just before ASP goes into effect or ends, leaving residents scrambling for parking.

If you don't own a car: pro.
If you own a car: con.
I'm not who you think I am.

Where else, other than NYC, will you see a car that was double parked in a narrow street booted rather than towed, as seen this afternoon on Union Street?   ::) ::) ::) ::)

If they don't boot it and it gets towed someone else gets the money, not them.

Understood, but doesn't justify obstructing traffic like this.

It seems like the city DOT is on a mission to obstruct traffic. I can show numerous examples of changes made around my neighborhood that serve no good purpose and create traffic bottlenecks.

You don't understand. The fact that it now takes 19 minutes to make it from Empire to Eastern Parkway is because they made it quicker.

I only claimed to understand not wanting the Porsche liability. Nothing else. (Well, not really, I understand the reduced speed limits and bus lanes paired with the electronic cash registers).

And yes. I do make it a point to drive right over those plastic poles whenever I turn left from Kingston onto President Street. If only they'd invest the money wasted on installing and maintaining those on something positive....

Asking for a friend who is dating a girl from MKE, he does very well in NYC with Low Voltage, Office Tech Support, IT Networking, Surveillance Cameras etc he is asking what would it be like if he relocated to MKE as far as getting client's and tech jobs  locally in MKE?

I have no idea if he can find as much work in MKE as he can in NYC, but keep in mind things pay less there, so he'd have to charge less. Plus, at least in the Jewish community, people aren't wealthy so they can't afford extras like surveillance cameras.
