Sports, amusement parks, water-sports, Chinese food, and national parks are everywhere.
None of those are legitimate reasons to fly to a boring place for no reason.
its DO + all this ::)

Agreed, and Cleveland doesn't want you to come or move here!
Too many NY/NJers coming as it is...#toomuchwinning

It's good to a point, but we certainly don't need more people who have a bad attitude. Over the years the number of people who ignore your Good Shabbos greeting has increased proportionally with growth from NY/NJ. But overall people do assimilate nicely.

Schools are bursting at the seams. Housing costs are up by 50-80% in a decade. Unchecked growth has consequences. Infrastructure hasn't kept pace with the growth and people that are moving here aren't entrepreneurs opening new Jewish infrastructure. They're in medicine or going to Kollel, which is great, but something has to give.

And the Clevelanders kvetching about NY/NJ drivers on FB is pretty hilarious and is only going to get worse. Change isn't easy!

this happens in every growing community

I grew up in Monsey [NY] where everyone greeted each other, till it came to a point, קענסט מיך פון ערגעץ will never forget that moment
when I would come to BP I would have a G'SH test only the rebbisha responded

It happens in every community with growth from Brooklyn and its environs where people have an NY machla of making a point not to greet each other.
And that hurts the friendliness of midwest communities where people don't want that to become the norm.

Saying there is no reason in the world to fly to Cleveland (or pretty much anywhere) to experience the local sports and amusement park isn't bad attitude.
Ignoring a Good Shabbos is bad manners, and would bother me too, although not worth losing sleep over.

Other than the Kollel guys, its all Doctors who are moving in to Cleveland? I have a hard time believing that is true

Of course it is.
What's interesting in NYC? LA? Big boring cities infested with crime, dirt, and traffic. But you can find fun things to do anywhere you go if you're not a negative nancy. Cedar point happens to be the top rated amusement park in the world, and it's on a wonderful beach full of activities and trips to islands in the lake. Not your thing? Look up the emerald necklace or the museums or the halls of fame.

not worth losing sleep over.
Spoken like a NYer/NJer.

I don't think, from what I've seen at least, that its an intentional thing.

?? not sure how I got into all of this
By the way, I agree that flying to NY or LA for a vacation is stupid. Never vacate in a big city.

CS people here say Ungers donuts are better than KK/DD.
Is Ungers anywhere near Put-In-Bay? Will have my son bring me back some. I love basic good donuts.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Think of all the old Jewish neighborhoods. South &west side of Chicago.
Where were they on the southside?

From what I’ve heard, from cities like Cleveland and Detroit, people aren’t so happy that it’s shteiging in gashmiyus.
