Montreal seems like a friendlier more laid back type of people.

Though the communities themselves seem a bit more black and white then Toronto.

+1, -1. Honestly montrealers are really friendly, and has the least amount of black and white cookie cutter nonsense I've ever seen

:)

Guess it all depends. I used to go often when I was younger though I've never lived there.  And it also depends which parts of the communities you're visiting.

Toronto seems too New Yorky for me.
Too much keeping up with the Cohens etc.

de vimy. Hate the whole language thing, language police, French mentality, and to an extent the anti semitism, although montreal is not as bad as st agathe

Montreal has better food.
In reasons to move somewhere, IMO cleanliness def rates above takeout

Not sure how you can say those 2 in the same breath in regards to cleanliness. Air quality counts...

+1, i could recall once reading an article that Montreal is from the top 10 cleanest cities in USA. And like dan mentioned the restaurant options there are way better than of Toronto's.

Pro for Toronto- only 4.5 hours by car to Beachwood
Con for Montreal 9.5 hours to Cleveland...

But the main info that was missing:
Toronto: Cheap rent (considering) avg $1200 for a two bedroom
Insanely high prices to buy. A starter home in Thornhill is $450k and down south it's more like $650k, and that's in might expensive loonies (and toonies).
