Don't get me wrong, I love LA perhaps more than any other city in the US and I'm always going back there to vacation and I spent 3 years learning there. But boy does it have more than its fair share of cons as a city to raise a family.
It's interesting that there are
many young couples coming back to LA and starting their families here. I don't know if they'll all stay once they have a few kids, but they're coming back for now.
I would add to the con list earthquakes (even though big ones may only come every couple decades they can be devastating)
I didn't include earthquakes for the same reason hurricanes are not included in NY/FL and blizzards/tornadoes are not included in the midwest: natural disasters don't count. If anything, damaging earthquakes are a lot less frequent than other damaging natural disasters.
