Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Just came across this article, and came here to post. Beat me!

Interesting list, but I can't say it's hard to argue with it.

they're not looking,  they're moving. Some already bought houses. A neighbor of mine bought there.

Very interesting gallup pole, 50% of Illinois residents want to move out.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/168770/half-illinois-connecticut-move-elsewhere.aspx

Chicago generally rates very high on the "misery index."

Funny thing though, most Chicago people never move out, they just wish they could. It's an easy place to get trapped.

Looks like New Yorkers are prouder than Clevelanders after all. Or is it the Cincinnatians who ruined the poll...

Polling by state is a ridiculous way to judge, any given city has much more in common with other states than they do with most of their own.

Let's put this in perspective - Alaska beat out Hawaii by 9%. This tells you more about how good a fit a state is for its actual residents, not how good a state is in general. The top 10 are all among the least populous states (Texas being the exception).

Maybe that tells you more about the herd mentality of people who feel like they need to live in the city when really they would be happier living on a ranch in Wyoming.

Last I checked this thread was about how good a fit a state is for its residents and not how good a state is in general...
