Checking out of Hotel on Shabbos

Has anybody had experience checking out of hotels (Le Meridian) on shabbos? I am staying in barcelona on friday night and my flight leaves saturday night so I don't want to have to pay for saturday night as well.
Shabbos is over at 5:30 PM and the hotel said I could have a late checkout at 4 PM. My plan is to check out at 4 PM and have them store my bags in the luggage room and I will hang out on the streets of barcelona until 530pm and then leave.
Thoughts?

id email the manager asking for the courtesy to extend it to 5:30 for religious reasons...

Already did that. They said 4 PM is the absolute latest.

it's not the end of the world. Just have them take your bags for you
