Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel and Towers Reports
« on: May 07, 2010, 02:03:30 AM »
  Hi all,
I am looking for help from any of you that have been to this property.

I'm trying to figure out what type of rooms they have, and what is worth it to try to book.
When I go to spg's website, and put in random dates in November for example, I see a few types of rooms.

1) Deluxe Seaview Non-smoking, Sweet Sleeper Bed, Step Out Balcony (which is the standard room that they give for points)-300 a night
2) Club Floor Non-smoking, Sweet Sleeper Bed, Club Lounge Access 18 Yrs Plus, Step Out Balcony-330 a night
3) Towers Rm Seaview Non-smoking, Sweet Sleeper Bed, Twrs Lng Access W/full Brkfst, Butler Service, Step Out Balcony- $400 a night
4) Club Floor Suite, Sweet Sleeper Bed, Twrs Lng Access W/full Brkfst, Separate Living Rm/w Sofa Bed,-$873 a night

Are these all the types of rooms they have,or are there many types?
Also, all the rooms mention SEAVIEW, but is that really the case, is the whole hotel facing the ocean?
Do any rooms have nice big balconies nicely facing the ocean, since they all seem to mention step out balcony, which im assuming isn't much?
And finally, if  im PLAT or have connections with the hotel, what is a good room to ask for, and where in the hotel, and on what floor? (not asking for Shabbos)
  Thanks all

All of the rooms have a seaview because it's built on an angle. Some of them are dead on - fullview. Some of them are a side balcony with a decent (partial) view.

Is a dead on view too much to ask for, or they have plenty of them?
Is the towers section a whole different area of the hotel, or it's just the higher floors? (And is it the better part of hotel)
   What's the deal on parking?

They have plenty any upgrade will get it for you. The towers is on the 17th floor and the rooms aren't nicer they just have fancier things for example bvlgari soap. And parking is 120 shekel a day.

If a person needs a special room why not either simply use more pts from the get go and have it confirmed and thusly not worry about what you will end up in. Problem solved

AFAIK ALL the main Hotels in TA charge for parking

Is the 17th the top floor, and is that the ONLY floor that's called the towers?
Do you get lounge access if you make it to the towers floor?

Can you somehow pay it with points? $35 just to park is a little high in my opinion.

This is the latest info I got, correct me if you know otherwise.

1- Gold members get upgraded to the 4th,5th,and 6th floors, but no access to the club lounge on the 7th floor.
2- Platinum members do have access to both the Club lounge and the Towers lounge.
3- The food is Rabbanute Tel Aviv, and NOT Glatt.
4- If you are staying on points you do not have access to any breakfast, unless you are Platinum, when then you have access to the club lounges where they serve some sort on continental breakfast. You can always purchase breakfast for $30, or 1500 points. (Kashrus is your responsibility).
5- Parking is 60 shekel, or around $16 for a 24 hour period.

I had the mashgiach (guy with gerrer peyos) walk me through breakfast in the dining room last summer. He told me in Yiddish, this is Bedatz for example, or this is ok, ect. Just ask him.
