Also wonder why did they stop the online rebate? it says on the receipt that it can be done online, they should answer to this they cant just change it all of a sudden.

Generally only 30% of people send in mail in rebates, so companies routinely rely on the fact that most people won't send them in. Online rebates probably have a higher percentage of submissions. Have you ever done staples rebates before??

99% of th time they are SER, which means they can be processed online. 
In this case it as well it was an SER, and the question is wjy they changed it into a MIR.

I'm well aware of how SER works as I've done many before.  I'm just speculating.  Could be they haven't had such a big response to a rebate before/in a while.  Did you have a different idea?

i must be missing something. I was under the impression that the rebate wanoffixiallybfoe only 1 $100 card per customer, thus mailing it in will enable them to only send out a $15 staples gift card vs $150. Is that wrong?

The glitch didn't have anything to with the allowed limit.

In any case, when you file via mail,  they can track it be the address you are requesting that they send the check to.
