Just noticed I have 4g speeds here in brooklyn on my SG3.
here are the speedtest results!
you'll probably do better on 3g (a lot less congestion)

Who here is losing patience with Sprint? I've been with them for over 4 years yet they've failed to deliver a usable data network. The time has come to choose quality over quantity. Who's with me?

Me :D

I really don't get why Sprint LTE is so much slower than VZW.  Being a convert from having Sprint for 10 years, VZW really is worth the extra money.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

The worst is when your traveling and your waiting for gps to lock in before you have to take that crucial turn and its just not happening. Or, for traffic to load on maps for that matter... My wife's metro phone puts Sprint to shame!

+1 on both counts. Never had an issue, especially with gmaps.

1 minute by me :o

Took a bit longer when I was using a BB, but now on iPhone 5 takes literally less than 3 secs.

the 1 Bar is not lte, that's the bar for talk and text, the lte has separate antennas, and you probably won't see how many bars you get for lte.
Btw no issues with gps either, takes two seconds to lock by me.

I had this issue on my last S2 and I brought the phone in to sprint to complain.
They ran tests and in the end gave me a new S2 which worked perfectly.

Do you think the first that they gave you might've been refurbished ?

i dont think that the gps fix has to do with sprint, rather it has to do with the manufacturer. i have an evo 4g with sprint  and on airplane mode i get a gps fix within seconds

hmm interesting take..both the s2 and nexus are Samsung...I do find that Samsungs radios such as Wi-Fi are weaker than others. I had the HTC 3D and I found that to get a better connection. My nexus is always losing connection with my home Wi-Fi even though I'm within 50 feet of the router :o

Me :D

I really don't get why Sprint LTE is so much slower than VZW.  Being a convert from having Sprint for 10 years, VZW really is worth the extra money.

Me too!  I've been with Sprint for about 8 years now, and it's been a constant headache.  I get dropped calls, terrible 3G forget even 4G, and poor voice quality in my home.  I'm trying to move my family plan from Sprint to VZW, but we're stuck in a damn contract till Jan 2014 still.  Any advice on how to get out of it without paying ETF now?

Also, for VZW, do we have any deals on plans or discounts going?

i think alot of the dropped calls and poor voice quality has to do with the phones internal antenna. i'n been with sprint for about 6 yrs on a f&c plan and kept switching to used phones bought on ebay , all of them quite a few years old and my service varied with voice quality and dropped calls. i now have a htc evo 4g  with sprint and i am consistently getting five bars of service in my basement and haven't had a dropped call in about a month
my 2 cents
