Winter Vacation Ideas - Out of Israel
« on: November 12, 2012, 09:59:44 AM »
Looking to put together a mid winter vacation. Here are the facts, any help or advice is much appreciated!

Have UA miles and Marriott free night credits (as well as SPG points if need be).

Looking to leave Israel on a Thursday and head to England for weekend, have that reserved with UA on LX. Need a recommendation for one more city to spend a couple days in...maybe a city with a jewish history where I can hire a guide or go it alone (Budapest, Warsaw, Prague?)

Would return to TLV from next city and purchase o/w in between cities unless there was a better option.

Key is ease of access in/around city, kosher food and a place where one can relax.

TIA

Prague is beautiful

it also has good marriott options, what would you recommend in prague? is 2-3 days enough?

problem is getting from LHR to PRG is expensive due to high taxes...:(

IIRC Dinitz has great food (and Shabbos meals), but ordering in advance is an absolute must.

I thought so.  One day went to Murano and Burano which are smaller islands not far from Venice.

Other day spent in Venice.  Saw tons of the stuff there...just walk around everywhere

I personally was only there on Shabbos, but my friend told me he went there during the week and they had no food for him. Not to say that they for sure never do; just don't take a chance.

YMMV. Really depends on what you like to do on vacation... I know quite a few people that went there 4-5 times and are still planning to go in the near future because they loved the city so much and they didn't get enough of it...

Could be wrong but I dont think theyre going back to see things they didnt see...theres not that much to be seen in Venice for 4-5 times...
Could be they just love the city which makes alot of sense because it is a very nice city.

But if someones has two days...he could see/get alot done in two days in Venice.

I think that's what the OP wanted to know. It's not like it's a waste of time to go for two days because you couldn't do half of Venice ::)
I went my first (and only so far) time with school and we did everything in less than 24 hours.
I agree that it's never enough.
