Not wool, but I've gotten decent looking dress pants at Kohl's, and they last for a while, too - mine lasted for about a year, at least. Figure in the dry cleaning savings, and you end up way on top.

Lemmie guess, synthetic materials?

Machine-washable dress pants?
« Reply #22 on: March 21, 2013, 03:19:10 PM »
Hi,

I searched before posting, so I apologize if I missed something.

Can anyone recommend nice, machine-washable pants? My wife would like me to get some nicer pants than my current The Right Place stuff, but frankly, I'd rather avoid paying $500 or more per year in dry cleaning costs. So... does anyone know of any nice pants that aren't dry clean only?

Thanks!

I don't think you'll find good washable wool dress pants.
Cotton, yes. But they're not dressy.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

-1. I think H&M makes nice cotton/polyester dress pants. So does Banana.

IMHO yes. I can wear them to the DO tomorrow. I don't have a jacket though.

If they are good enough for a DO then they must be dressy enough  ;)

Check out Zara and Benetton...nice cotton (dressy) pants.

You will never get the same dressy look as 100% wool..but ive gotten close to it.

+1 Of course... And a store bought suit will never look as good as custom made etc..

IIRC all of zaras pants are washable. The wear and tear will show a lot sooner though. I dry clean all of my zara pants

I've been wearing Covington (Sear's brand) for years. They are not wool, but look great, dressy look, and wash extremely well. Plus, they're very inexpensive.
Go to your local Sear's, there are racks and racks of them waiting for you.
Here's an example:http://www.sears.com/covington-men-s-pleated-front-dress-pants/p-045VA52727912P?prdNo=6&blockNo=6&blockType=G6

This is macy's selection http://www1.macys.com/search/results.ognc?sortOption=*&Keyword=washable%20dress%20pants&resultsPerPage=96&Action=sd&attrs=Gender:Gender:Mens. I bought a pair of calvin klein 6 months ago washed bunches of times and the crease is still there. I've worn the pants to weddings
