Google Fiber is giving users 700 mbps

Google Fiber went live today in Kansas City. Speeds were consistently 700 mbps with a cable and 200 mbps via wi-fi. Why can't Verizon Fios do the same thing? http://arstechnica.com/business/2012/11/google-fiber-is-live-in-kansas-city-real-world-speeds-at-700-mbps/

I want to rent out a room there & put in my computer there , I will control the computer remotely from my location in New York via team viewer , etc.

I need to do some internet transactions which speed matters in Millisecond's not seconds ....

Do you know where I can start looking for such a thing in KS city ?

I have automatic program which is doing everything by it self , I just need to set it up & install it, once complete it will run automatically  24/7 without me doing anything , but I need super fast speed for it , the more speed I got is better

Any idea ?

My first question is still bothering me. How is google fiber different from Verizon fiber optics? Why is my verizon fios speed not even close to these speeds?
