Happened 3 times so far....

This confuses me. If you mean without the help of the U.S. then yes, those wars were fought without the help of the U.S. which did not become decidedly pro-Israel till the mid 70's. But at that time Israel had the backing of France and to a lesser extent Russia, which supplied them with money and weapons. Without the help of those countries Israel is probably not around today. So Israel has always and will always continue to rely on other countries for her survival.
For all of you saying needs no stop listening to the U.S. first there is little source that Netanyahu was opposed to the ceasefire but was pressured by U.S. So slow down abit. Also, would there be strong pressure to broker a deal it would be suicidal for Israel to tell the U.S. to jump in a lake. Without U.S. military aid to Israel, the Arabs would attack in an instant. And without U.S. blocking the UNSC and UNGA, Israel would be arrested for war crimes many times over.

The cold war is unfortunately still simmering, it's insane to think that in 2012 the Russians are still interested in unrest in the midddle east :'(
Are you hinting Russian involvement in 9/11?!  (or in the current ME unrest?  Your statement was in response to 9/11 quote)

Which prison might they house Israel in?

I state that the US should and does support Israel and you ask me these questions? What am I missing?

Statements such as these:
What does the US get out of this?
but that does not change the fact that the US is on the short end of the stick on this deal.

As an aside, just to throw into the discussion the following facts that you don’t hear from the media. According to Wikipedia, Hamas is on a campaign to “end secularism and heresy in the Gaza Strip.” Their “achievements” so far include: coercion of women to wear Hijab, banning girls from riding behind men on motor scooters, banning women from dancing, banned women from smoking in public, forceful closing of Internet cafes and music shops, banning of concerts, widespread book banning, closing of entertainment sites, persecution of Christian Palestinians.
The eradication of Hamas is a better solution, not just for Israelis, but for the Arabs as well. Had the “peace process” never occurred, the quality of life for everyone on all sides of the fence would be far better than it is now.
The USA was key in getting us into this mess, they have a moral obligation to stand by us until the end, whatever that might be.

They have no moral obligation what so ever. You sound like a spoiled child. Now it is all the US’s (parents) fault.

Yep, if the parent is cause for child's issues, without which these issues wouldn't have happened, they are morally culpable.

Maybe the child just needs a good spanking and sent to his room.  :P

Yes, give the child a spanking for getting himself caught up in Gaza! It serves him right for letting himself be duped into participating in the Madrid talks with terrorist organizations, then on to the Oslo accords, the peace process, the infamous white-house handshake, the RoadMap and then finally, disengagement from Gaza!

Let Uncle (Daddy?) Sam give a good spanking to the child, and self-righteously proclaim that one does not negotiate with terrorists. Daddy Sam does not condone such behaviour!

It sounds like this is your preferred form of U.S. foreign policy!

Sounds like someone (Israel) is not happy and thinks the grass is greener on the other side. Last time I check the door is not locked and you (Israel) can leave (the arrangement) any time.

Now back to reality. This is one big political game. Israel will try an extract as much as they can from the US without pi**ing them off too much. The US will use this against them to get what they feel is in their best interest.
