Using British miles to fly to Montreal
« on: November 18, 2012, 12:26:46 AM »
I recently created a BA acct for someone and booked a flight for him using my credit card.

Does anyone know if when using British miles to fly NY- Montreal on American Airlines, will they ask for verification of the credit card used

for booking? The traveler will not have my credit card which I used to book his flight. However the BA acct is his, not mine.

Any related info about using BA miles to Canada will be appreciated.

Thanks

They will not ask for verification

However bartering of miles is  prohibited and if they suspect fraudulent activity your ticket will be cancelled.

When I flew, they didn't ask me.

And I would also add that the flight was such a pleasure. No lines here in NY and in Montreal, 20 minutes after we landed I was already in the car from the airport. I wish I could say that here in NY!

Bruh, where were you when my suitcase weighed it 51.50 pounds?

Same for me, and the ticket was made by someone else, same as OP

IME The lines at immigration for non Canadians were extremely long. Probably depends what time you arrive and if there are other flights arriving at the same time, though when I flew with my baby they let us cut the whole line.

I have heard it reported that AA is flying empty planes to Toronto and Montreal. Plenty of award availability. I wonder why its worth for them?

What would make them suspect bartering?

If the account user didn't use his own credit card.

But how was the flight?...

Flight was a pleasure.

It had about 40 seats. About 8 passengers were haimish and about 9 non haimish so about 17 passengers.

It was my first time going to Montreal by plane, till then I always want by bus which takes 9 hours and you arrive dragged out!

I heard these aircrafts are really scary. It feels like you're on a rollercoaster. Is this true?

So please tell us when the planes are full?

I flew once and there were 17 passengers on 40 seat plane!

Glad to be vindicated ;D

Obviously it depends on the season

Why does AA have so many daily flights if they can't fill them?
